Longjaw Squirrelfish
Holocentrus adscensionis
Sargocentron diadema

This bright red fish hides in reef crevices by day and comes out to feed once the light fades, like most of its squirrelfish relatives. Its face carries a neat pattern of white lines, as if someone had drawn them on with a ruler.
Also known as: crowned squirrelfish, crowned squirrel-fish
Many squirrelfish look alike: large-eyed, red, and nocturnal. To tell this one apart, look at the gill cover for its two vertical white lines, plus the extra white line running along the upper lip and under the eye.
The crown squirrelfish is bright red all over, with thin white lines running from the gill cover back to the base of the tail. The gill cover itself has two vertical white lines, and a third line runs along the upper lip and below the large eye.
