Bicolor Blenny
Ecsenius bicolor
Parablennius pilicornis

A small, well-camouflaged blenny of rocky, wave-battered shores, the ringneck blenny gets its name from a pair of dark bands circling the underside of its head like a collar.
Also known as: hairy-horned blenny
Many small blennies on rocky shores share this mottled, camouflaged look. The pair of dark bands under the throat, like a collar, is the mark that names this one the ringneck blenny.
The body carries up to nine dusky bands across the back and dark spots below, though some individuals are plain pale with only faint, irregular dusky marks. Two dark bands cross the underside of the head. The pectoral fins are pale to dusky, and the dorsal fin is either dusky overall or covered in spots.
This species is the type species of the genus Parablennius, meaning it is the one that gave the whole genus its scientific name.
